Head Coach David Wagner told the press that Huddersfield Town has be “ambitious and realistic” during the Club’s second ever Premier League campaign.

The Terriers secured top-flight status against Chelsea last season and kicks off the 2018/19 campaign against the Blues at the John Smith’s Stadium.

As David Wagner addressed the press for the first time this season, he explained what is realistic for his side to achieve.

“Anything can happen in the Premier League so what is realistic, I don’t really know!

“I can tell you what our aim is, and it’s very easy and hopefully it doesn’t sound boring, but it’s exactly the same as when I first arrived.

“We will give ourselves no limits and to try everything to achieve what we can achieve.

“For sure, success will be to secure a third consecutive season in the Premier League; this will be a success.

“We will not make the first mistake to get carried away, this for me would be a success, if we again stay up for a further season.

“Does this mean I’d like to aim for more? Yes of course because I don’t want to give us a limit, but this would be a success.”

Focused on Town’s first match of the season, David Wagner was quick to put the focus back on to his side explaining what the supporters can expect from his side.

“I am not focused on what Chelsea have done, the signings they’ve done or the change of manager; I think we know everything we have to know, in terms of who will be available, what formation they will choose and then it’s all about us.

“We have to be focused on ourselves. I don’t think we have to discuss their quality. It’s all about us to show the passion, desire and spirit to be brave.

“We will do this tomorrow and then we will see what we can get out of this game.”

Town’s Head Coach also revealed the latest team news ahead of the match, whilst also going into detail about Christopher Schindler signing a new contract and the impact the supporters need to make over the campaign.
