Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner revealed the latest news ahead of Sunday’s Premier League game against Manchester City.

Despite starting the week with a full squad of 23 players, Town’s Head Coach explained that defender Mathias Zanka will miss the game due to injury, whilst Jonathan Hogg is doubtful for the match.

“We had a very good start to the week, where all 23 squad players were healthy and available for training.

“We used the opportunity to give Elias Kachunga and Collin Quaner some minutes with the Elite Development Team, they both played very well with Kache scored three goals and Collin scored two.

“On this day, Mathias Zanka got a muscle injury in training, not very serious but it looks like he will miss the game on Sunday. We hope he will be back for the next game against Cardiff.

“Jonathan Hogg has a light hip problem and he’s a doubt for Sunday as well. We still have the hope that we will be ready for Sunday, but he is a doubt.

“Apart from Zanka, who will be out for sure, and ‘Hoggy’ who has a question mark, everybody’s available.

“This means I have a lot of things to think about. We are very happy that we have such a competitive squad together at the minute.”

After discussing which players are available, Town’s Head Coach told the press what the players need to focus on ahead of the match at the Etihad Stadium

“Whoever is in front of you, you like to cause them problems. You like to test yourself against the best and Man City are the best; this is the truth.

“But this doesn’t mean that really want to make it a comfortable afternoon for them and that’s what our aim is on Sunday.

“We have to be on our best, be brave and trust in our abilities. In these games you need the small margins to go in your favour as well.

“We will work on our limit, we will work our socks off and there’s no better occasion than to play City away. We will be there, and we will try our best, like we’ve done in the past.”
