- Ben Hamer makes competitive debut for the Terriers
- Several summer signings among the substitutes
Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has named his starting XI for the Premier League opener against Chelsea; 3pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Ben Hamer is the only summer recruit to make his competitive debut for the Club as a member of the starting XI today; his impressive pre-season form sees him line-up in goal, with Jonas Lössl among the substitutes.
Otherwise the team is made up from the stalwarts of last season’s successful campaign, albeit Terence Kongolo makes his first start as a permanent Huddersfield Town player too.
With Tommy Smith a substitute, Jonathan Hogg captains the side on his 150th league appearance for the Club.
New boys Adama Diakhaby and Ramadan Sobhi are on the bench today.
Danny Williams (ankle) is unavailable today as he builds his fitness back up, whilst Wagner indicated that Erik Durm needs more minutes on the pitch before being considered for First Team selection.
