Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien has joined Sky Bet League 1 Club Bradford City on loan for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.

The 19-year-old attack minded, left-footed midfielder is the second Terrier to join the Bantams on loan, as Jack Payne signed earlier in the window. Winger Sean Scannell also moved to Bradford City permanently over the summer.

This will be the first taste of senior experience for Lewis as he moves away from the Club’s PPG Canalside Training Ground for the first time.

The Young Terrier will now gain important experience of First Team football under former Town midfielder Michael Collins.

Bradford City currently sits 13th in the Sky Bet League 1 table with six points from five games; winning two and losing three.

Lewis, who was born in Colchester and joined the Terriers at Under-11 level, recently put pen to paper on an extended professional deal that runs until 30 June 2021, with the Club having the option on a further season.

The youngster has been named Town’s Academy Player of the Year twice in the last three seasons and regularly trains with David Wagner’s First Team.

Over the course of pre-season, Lewis featured five times for the Terriers, which included matches against Werder Bremen and Real Betis. Not only this, the 19-year-old was most notably named as an unused substitute in Town’s Emirates FA Cup match away at Bolton Wanderers during the 2017/18 campaign.
