- Check out a Town win over weekend opponent Chelsea
- Kenny Irons stunner enough to beat the Blues at Stamford Bridge
- That game was the last time the Terriers defeated Chelsea

Do you remember the last time that Town defeated this weekend’s opponent Chelsea?

That would be back in October 1999 at Stamford Bridge – and you can relive the stunning winner from midfielder Kenny Irons now on #HTTV!

Town were enjoying a good season back in 1999/00 under the management of Steve Bruce, smashing seven past Crystal Palace in an old Division One game in August.

Having defeated Scunthorpe United and Notts County in the old Worthington Cup, the Terriers were handed a trip to top-flight Chelsea in the Third Round of the competition – and the win sparked a superb run of form for the team.

Summer signing Irons, who had joined Town from Tranmere Rovers, sealed passage to the Fourth Round with a remarkable long-range effort; his third for the Club, having netted his second in a 2-2 draw at Port Vale just days earlier.

A loss at Bolton Wanderers and draws against Stockport County and Fulham preceded a six-match winning streak; Town’s best run of results in 17 years.
