“The season starts now” was a reoccurring message from Huddersfield Town midfielder Philip Billing as he reviewed the Club’s defeat to Premier League Champions Manchester City.
He spoke to #HTTV after the Terriers’ second defeat of the season and was quick to put focus on the upcoming game against Cardiff City at the John Smith’s Stadium.
“We’ve got to move on, stick together and be positive – the whole club.
“We’ve got to go into the next game, play our own game, play how we normally play and get points out of that game. We have to stay positive.”
On the defeat against the Cityzens, Philip Billing explained how hard it was against them in the middle of midfield because of how quickly they moved the ball.
“We were against City and there’s not much you can do against them.
“If you try to press them high, Ederson has got a good kick so he can just kick it over everyone.
“At times we sat deep, you know, it was just the same they’d always manage to find a man free. Especially when you play in midfield, it’s hard because you’re just chasing shadows.
“At the start they had a few chances early on, but so did we and we eventually scored a goal. A few mistakes happen when you’re tired and getting sloppy.
“The season starts now, and we’ve just got to move on to Cardiff.”
Town’s midfielder went on to discuss how his long throws will be utilised this season, how the mood will remain positive in the dressing room and how delighted he was to see Jon Stanković score on his Premier League debut.
