Town’s Ticket Office Manager wins prize at Ticketing Business Awards

- Sue Beaumont receives award at 2018 Ticketing Business Awards
- Town’s Ticket Office Manager named Unsung Hero
- Sue beat off competition from Russia, the UK and the USA

Huddersfield Town’s Ticket Office Manager Sue Beaumont won the Unsung Hero prize at the 2018 Ticketing Business Awards.

Sue, who has worked for Huddersfield Town for almost 25 years, was given the award by the judges, beating off competition from Russia, the UK and the USA.

The panel of judges consisted of nine experts in a number of fields; sports, theatre, live entertainment, cinema, marketing, consultancy and more.

The award was created to highlight an individual or team that delivers consistently outstanding service and results for an entertainment ticketing enterprise (be it a sports team, an arts organisation or an event organiser). Awarded to the quiet achiever(s), the ever-reliable ‘behind-the-scenes’ fixer(s) and the person(s) that ‘just gets on with the job’.

Town’s Ticket Office Manager received the award on 17 April 2018 at the private ceremony held at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester.

Sue has been at Huddersfield Town since 1993. She started working two days a week in the Ticket Office before taking a full-time position. After impressing in her role, Sue became Ticket Office Manager on 8 March 2003.

During her role she has sorted tickets out for two trips to the old Wembley Stadium and is the only Ticket Office Manager in the country to organise tickets for four Play-Off Finals at four different grounds.

“Our congratulations go to everyone who reached the podium,” said Ian Nuttall, founder of TheTicketingBusiness. “Winners included our industry’s leaders, achievers and stand-out innovators, who should all be very proud of their achievements.”

Huddersfield Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis commented:

“What can I say about Sue? Put simply, she has been a superb member of staff, dare I say an icon of this Club, someone who has ensured that thousands of our supporters have watched their team, both home and away.

“Sue has helped to create memories for our fans and become a minor celebrity to them. They have the confidence to know that if they have any problems, Sue is approachable and can sort out their issues.

“People like Sue deserve the credit for dedicating their working lives to our industry, and with Sue celebrating 25 years with the Club in September this year, this award is a superb way to highlight her work for us.”
