Mark Hudson’s Young Terriers lost their second Professional Development League game in 11 at PPG Canalside. Town’s Under-23s Coach fielded a young side for the match, which had the average age of just 18 years and nine months.
Forest took the lead after 10 minutes when striker Virgil Gomis curled a brilliant effort into the top corner from the edge of the area. The visitors continued to push forwards and got a second when Arvin Appiah sent Joel Coleman the wrong way from the penalty spot.
In the 78th minute, Nottingham Forest scored its third when Gomis fired a first-time shot into the bottom corner before Forest Captain Toby Edser sealed the victory late on.
