Do you remember Huddersfield Town’s last home game against Watford and Joel Lynch’s match brilliant overhead kick?

You have to go back to Town’s 2014/15 Sky Bet Championship season with the Terriers beating the Hornets 3-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium.

An incredible bicycle kick from centre-back Joel Lynch sealed all three points for Chris Powell’s side who moved up to fifteenth in the table.

After a goalless first half, Nahki Wells put Town ahead in the 52nd minute. Jacob Butterfield drilled a low ball across the face of goal, which allowed Wells to place the ball into the back of the net from close range.

Watford levelled in the 65th minute through Odion Ighalo. The striker’s effort at the near post squirmed through the grasp of ‘keeper Alex Smithies and trickled over the line.

Just over 10 minutes later, Town was back ahead. Opening scorer, Wells, this time turned provider, with Vaughan flicking his cross over Gomes into the back of the net.

Then, with just seven minutes remaining, Joel Lynch sealed all three points. The defender marked his 200th career appearance in style, firing a magnificent overhead kick past Gomes from inside the area.
