ROUND-UP: TOWN PLAYERS ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY

1 September 2017

Town players on international duty

- Town players on international duty
- Billing makes first Denmark U21 appearance
- Next round of fixtures begin Monday

Find out how the five Huddersfield Town players in contention for the first round of international fixtures got on.

On his first appearance for Denmark’s U21 side, Philip Billing played the full game as his side ran out 3-0 winners in the Faroe Islands. The Young Danes will look to build upon their good result in their final game of the international break, as they face Lithuania in Aalborg on Tuesday with kick off at 5pm.

Ryan Schofield was on the bench as his England U19 side ran out comfortable 7-1 winners over Poland Under-19s at St George’s Park on Friday afternoon. Ryan could still yet play a part as his side host Germany on Tuesday at the One Call Stadium, Mansfield.

Kasey Palmer was a second half substitute for Dominic Solanke as the England U21s drew 1-1 with the Netherlands in the opening game of their UEFA U21 Championship qualifiers in Doetinchem. The Young Lions will next face table-topping Latvia on Tuesday evening at the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth.

Both Jonas Lössl and Mathias Zanka were unused substitutes in Denmark’s convincing 4-0 win over Poland in København. The Danes could still yet feature in their next game on Monday evening as they travel to face Armenia for a 5pm kick-off.

Aaron Mooy missed out on his sides first game as the Soceroos were defeated by two goals in Japan. This leaves the Aussie’s in third place, joint on points with second place Saudi Arabia with one game remaining. Australia must now better Saudi Arabia’s result in Tuesday’s game at home to Thailand in order to qualify automatically for the World Cup 2018.
