Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has been named as the Premier League Manager of the Month for August 2017!
David beat Liverpool’s Jürgen Klopp, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Manchester United’s José Mourinho and West Brom’s Tony Pulis to win the award which was voted by a panel of experts including Premier League legends such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Alan Shearer and Jamie Carragher as well as the fans.
Town picked up seven points from the Club’s opening three games of the season, which started with an impressive 3-0 win over Crystal Palace, sealing the Terriers’ first ever Premier League win.
David Wagner’s side went on to beat Newcastle United 1-0 after Aaron Mooy’s superb strike before drawing 0-0 with Southampton at the John Smith’s Stadium.
He guided the Club to three consecutive clean sheets in the Premier League, making Town only the second newly promoted side to do so since Charlton Athletic in 1997/98.
Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner commented:
“I am happy; it’s an honour for me to receive this award but I would like to take it for the whole club.
“My players earned the results on the pitch and got a lot of details right.
“I always hoped we would start well but I didn’t expect it; we are happy so far but like I said it’s only a start and we have to stay focused throughout the season.”
