Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner told the press that they must remember where the Club has come from ahead of this weekend’s match against Manchester United.
Wagner explained how his side will remain humble in the Premier League and admitted his players are on a learning curve in the top-flight.
The Head Coach went on to praise Town’s fans for being so realistic and revealed why he believes the Club has performed so well over the last year and a half.
“We altogether have to make sure, especially if the media ask me some questions, that we are totally clear about what made us strong in the past and that we don’t forget where we are and where we come from.
“That we still, even if we’ve had a decent start so far in this season, we are very humble.
“I don’t think we should make the mistake and I know our supporters are so smart they will not make this mistake, we must not take the extraordinary as ordinary and the unusual as usual.
“What we have done so far, this season and last season is extraordinary; this is something we cannot take for guaranteed.
“This is something we have to say, ‘listen boys well done, this is extraordinary’ if we start to make the mistake to take the extraordinary for the ordinary and expect it, we will get over expectations and this could cause us a big, big problem.
“I’m so happy that our supporters and everybody in our dressing room knows exactly that we have our clear vision, we still have no limits, we are very ambitious, but we don’t have expectations which are unrealistic.
“This is something that everyone should be clear, that this will never change at this football club because that’s what made us strong so far; realistic expectations and unbelievable togetherness.
“If we keep this together with our ambitions, I am totally sure we have a chance and as I said at the start of the season you only like to have a chance.
“We have to make sure that we keep three things; be ambitious, keep realistic expectations and show this togetherness. These are the only reasons we are where we are at the minute; in the Premier League.”
