The Town Foundation – the official, registered charity of Huddersfield Town – is looking for a number of individuals to join its growing team as Town Foundation Co-ordinators.

Overview

The Town Foundation is the charitable arm of Huddersfield Town Football Club. As the Foundation continues to develop it wishes to appoint:

- Women and Girls Co-ordinator
- Primary Stars Co-ordinator
- Kicks Co-ordinator

These roles will work to develop and deliver Huddersfield Town Foundation’s Premier League programmes and look to develop new opportunities in conjunction with these programmes;

- Premier League Girls
- Premier League Primary Stars
- Premier League Kicks

The Women and Girls co-ordinator and Kicks co-ordinator will report directly to the Head of Inclusion. The Primary Stars co-ordinator will report directly to the Head of Education.

The role will be initially on an 18-month contract, extension is subject to funding.

Purpose of role
To develop and deliver the Huddersfield Town Foundation’s Premier League programmes and look to develop new opportunities in conjunction with these programmes;

- Premier League Girls
- Premier League Primary Stars
- Premier League Kicks

This will include partnership working, project management, delivery of quality sessions, effective marketing and communications and the monitoring and evaluation of the programme/project.

The job holder will play an influential role in many people’s lives by promoting the club and its values, whilst also promoting the benefits of positive education, physical activity and community cohesion projects.

Key relationships

Internal – Head of Community, Head of Inclusion, Education and Sport, Disability Officer and Coaching Staff.

External – Kirklees Council, KAL, schools, colleges, Huddersfield university, grassroots clubs, relevant community groups, youth offending teams, police, West Riding County FA, volunteers, others to be determined.

Overview

To drive and deliver the Inclusion strategy for the Foundation and demonstrate the One Club One Community ethos of Huddersfield Town Foundation and One Kirklees. This role will be a fixed term 2-year contract, funding will need to be brought in to ensure the post can be sustained past this point, and then the role will become permanent.

Key Tasks

Delivery:
- To provide quality sports delivery related to the PL programmes.
- To keep up to date with relevant CPD and qualification requirements.

Programme Management:
- To effectively be able to develop project plans including timelines, key milestones and risk management.
- To work closely with colleagues to ensure cross working within the foundation, these will be as a minimum Women and Girls Coordinator, PL Kicks Coordinator, Primary Stars Coordinator and Disability Officer.
- Effectively lead the development and delivery of designated projects and products.
- To ensure the monitoring and evaluations of all projects is on track and up to date.

Communications and Marketing:
- To lead on a communications plan to market and promote the relevant programme (PL Girls/PL Kicks/Primary Stars).
- To use innovative methods of promotion that are relatable to the target audience.

Working in Partnership:
- To work in partnership with a range of different groups (Women and Girls, Children and Young People, Schools, Community Organisations) in relevant programmes and maintain positive relationships with them.
- To look for new opportunities to build relationships with other delivery organisation, for Inclusion, Education, Health and Sport developments.

Additional
- To perform other duties as reasonably assigned or under the authority of the management team.
- To work first team home matches when required.
- To have a knowledge of Safeguarding

Essential Skills
- Have previous experience of working in a sport and/or physical activity environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- Ability to plan projects and organise information.
- Ability to effectively communicate with partners and people from all backgrounds.
- Ability to support and engage a range of different groups (Women and Girls, Children and Young People, Schools, Community Organisations) in relevant programmes and maintain positive relationships with them.
- Focused on achievement, targets, and continuous improvement of programme delivery.
- Competent IT skills

Qualifications
- Relevant Degree Level Qualification or equivalent experience
- FA Level 2 Football
- FA Youth Module 1
- Safeguarding
- First Aid.
- Full driving license and the use of a vehicle/or ability to travel throughout Kirklees.

Knowledge
- Knowledge of sport development organisations and pathways from engagement to participation.
- Knowledge of Huddersfield Town Foundation.

Experience
- Project management.
- Delivering quality sessions to a range of audiences.
- Monitoring and evaluation of programmes/projects.
- Marketing and promotion of programmes/projects including: social media, website, flyers etc.
- Working with a range of different groups including Women and Girls, Young People from disadvantaged backgrounds, Schools and more to be determined.
- Working in partnership with a range of organisations.
- Achieving set targets and outputs.
Other Comments – the job holder:
- Will be required to demonstrate positive attitudes and values towards others and work in a non-discriminatory way.

Desirable Skills
- Experience of working in the Charitable sector.
- Previous experience working at a football club Trust / Foundation.
- AFPE Level 3 Supporting of PE and School Sport.
- Qualified Teacher Status.
- Experience in youth work.
- Other sports delivery qualifications.
