SUPPORT A NON-LEAGUE SIDE THIS WEEKEND

Town encourages all fans to support non-league day on Saturday

As there’s no Huddersfield Town match this weekend, why not get behind and support your local non-league side this weekend?

Huddersfield Town encourages all supporters to back ‘non-league day’ and visit one of their local non-league sides on Saturday 7 October.

Non-league day was originally set-up in 2010 with the aim of providing a platform for clubs to promote the importance of voluntary, community led football. A scheme that is backed by the Premier League and the EFL. Click here if you would like to know more about ‘non-league day’.

There are a number of non-league matches going on near the John Smith’s Stadium this Saturday (7 October) and we have selected the closest five to the Terriers that you could go and watch!

AFC Emley vs East Yorkshire Carnegie - 3pm KO
Fantastic Media Welfare Ground, off Upper Lane, Emley, HD8 9RE

AFC Emley will take on East Yorkshire Carnegie in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League - Division One (ninth tear of English football). The Club currently sits in 11th place in the league, one place behind Carnegie.

Bradford Park Avenue vs Kidderminster Harriers - 3pm KO
Horsfall Stadium, Cemetery Road, Bradford, BD6 2NG

National League North side Bradford Park Avenue will face Kidderminster Harriers on Saturday at the Horsfall Stadium. BPA currently sits eighth in the table, three points off the Play-Off places. If you attend this match, you may also see Town youngster Fraser Horsfall in action, who is on loan at Kidderminster Harriers.

As a special incentive, BPA will give HTAFC Season Card holders special £5 admission on production of their Season Cards for adults, £3.50 concessions and £1 for under 18s.

Ossett Albion vs Droylesden - 3pm KO
Queen’s Terrace, Dimplewells Road, Ossett, WF5 8JT

Ossett Albion currently sits 19th in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Division One North table (eighth tier of English football), two points above the relegation zone. The Club faces 10th placed Droylesden on Saturday who is chasing a Play-Off spot.

Ossett Town vs Goole AFC - 3pm KO
Ingfield, Prospect Road, Ossett, WF5 9HA

Ossett Town also compete in the same league as Ossett Albion and sit twelfth, with eight more points than its local rivals. Town faces bottom placed Goole AFC and will look to make up ground on the sides towards the top of the table.

Farsley Celtic vs Nantwich Town - 3pm KO
Throstle Nest, Newlands, Farsley, LS28 5BE

Farsley Celtic are a league higher than the Ossett sides in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division. Farsley currently sits in the Play-Off places in the table and has 26 points from 14 games. On Saturday the Club will face 19th placed Nantwich Town at Throstle Nest.
