7pm kick-off at the John Smith's Stadium
- FA Youth Cup Third Round draw made
- Town to host Fulham at the John Smith's Stadium
- Game on Friday 15 December; 7pm kick-off
Huddersfield Town’s Under-18 side will host Fulham in the Third Round of this season’s FA Youth Cup.
The draw for the Third Round was made at Wembley Stadium on Friday 10 November 2017, pitting Leigh Bromby’s table-topping Terriers against the Cottagers at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The game will be played on Friday 15 December, with a 7pm kick-off.
The north end of the Revell Ward Stand Lower Tier will be open for this fixture, with admission priced at £4 for adults and £2 concessions at the gate.
The tie is a tough one for the young Terriers, with Fulham currently sitting third in the early U18 Premier League South table.
The two sides met in the Sixth Round of the competition as recently as the 2013/14 campaign at Craven Cottage, with Fulham coming out as 2-1 winners in a fiercely contested game before going on to reach the final.
Launched in 1952, the FA Youth Cup is the premier competition in Under-18 football.
Unusually for Under-18 games, all FA Youth Cup matches are played at First Team stadia, although some clubs nominate another league-standard ground to play their home games.
There are no replays, so games are decided on the night with use of extra time and penalties if necessary.
Town’s youngsters were defeated at the Third Round stage last season, with AFC Wimbledon winning 2-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The Club’s best performance saw the Under-18s finish runner-up in the competition in the 1973/74 season, losing 2-1 on aggregate to Spurs over the two-legged final.
