Yorkshire County Cricket First XI Coach Andrew Gale came to PPG Canalside to learn new and different techniques from coaches at Huddersfield Town.

Gale, who was appointed at First XI Coach of YCC in November 2016, watched over Town’s Under-18s and Under-23s sides as they prepared for their upcoming Professional Development League games.

The session was led by First Team Assistant Coach Mark Hudson and was overseen by both SPD Coach Frankie Bunn and PD Coach Leigh Bromby.

Huddersfield Town was just one of the different clubs that ‘Galey’ has visited as he looks to pick up different coaching techniques that he can take back into cricket.

A few months before Andrew Gale visited Huddersfield Town, the Club’s Professional Development Coach Leigh Bromby spent a day at Yorkshire County Cricket to see if there was anything from cricket that he could adapt into football.

‘Galey’ saw Town’s Under-18s prepare for the upcoming U18 Professional Development League game against Bolton Wanderers.

The match will take place on Saturday 4 November at the Club’s PPG Canalside Training Ground, kicking off at 11am.

Last weekend’s impressive 4-0 win over Burnley saw Leigh Bromby’s young Terriers rise to first in the Professional Development League table with 20 points from 11 games.

Goals from George Danaher, Matty Daly, Cameron Taylor and an own goal earned the youngsters all three points. You can watch highlights below courtesy of #HTTV!

Saturday’s opponent, Bolton Wanderers, currently sits seventh in the PDL league just four points behind Bromby’s side.

Managed by Nicky Spooner, Bolton’s youngsters come into the game losing just one of their last seven matches; that did come in the last match as they lost 4-2 away at Hull City.
