Huddersfield Town’s Development Squad travels to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday 18 March 2017 in the Premier League Cup Round of 16.

The match will be played at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre (postcode: BN15 9FP) with kick-off at 1pm on Saturday 18 March.

Fans in the area on Saturday can watch the game at Brighton's training ground, but you must buy your ticket and print it in advance of match day from seagullstickets.com. Tickets are priced at £5 for adults and £2 for Over-65s and Under-16s.

This is the first knockout round of the competition after Frankie Bunn’s young side progressed from a four team group that included Liverpool FC, West Bromwich Albion and Ipswich Town.

The young Terriers finished second in the group with seven points from six outings, with the highlight of the competition so far being a 2-0 win at Portman Road against an experienced Ipswich side. You can see highlights from the match below courtesy of HTTV.

Town also defeated Category 1 Academy side, West Brom courtesy of a goal by Sam Warde at Aggborough, home of Kidderminster Harriers.

Saturday’s opponent, Brighton, finished top of its group which featured Aston Villa, Stoke City and West Ham United. Albion secured top spot with a 3-0 win over West Ham with Norway Under 21 international Henrik Bjørdal among the scorers.

The Seagulls have won five of their six matches in the Premier League Cup to date, scoring 17 and conceding just three during that time.

As per the Professional Development League games, teams can play three overage outfield players as well as an overage goalkeeper if they desire.

Last season, Town reached the semi-final of the competition before being cruelly denied a place in the final through a penalty shootout defeat by Hull City.

Leigh Bromby’s Under-18s side will also be in action on Saturday 18 March as it travels to face Professional Development League South side Coventry City at 11:30am.

The match will take place at the Alan Higgs Centre, Allard Way (CV3 1HW) and will be free and available for fans who want to travel to the game.

If you can’t get to the game, you can get all the latest team news and match updates via the Club’s dedicated Huddersfield Town Academy Twitter account, @htafcacademy.

The young Terriers will go into this fixture looking to build on a run of two successive wins.

Last time out, Leigh Bromby’s side beat local rivals Leeds United at Thorp Arch 3-2 after Dominic Tear scored a last minute winner; highlights are below courtesy of HTTV.

Huddersfield Town’s Under-18s side currently sits in third place in the Professional Development League North table with the Young Terriers amassing 39 points so far; just four points off second placed Sheffield Wednesday.

Richard Stevens’ Coventry City side currently sits in second place in the PDL South league, just five points behind first place. The Sky Blues have won their last 10 league games including impressive 7-0 and 9-0 victories against Cardiff City and Colchester United respectively.

The Professional Development League is split into two regional divisions, North and South. Teams play opponents in their own division twice and the other division once, before the top two teams from each league meet in the Play-Offs to determine the overall Champions.
