Huddersfield Town Development Squad defender Danny Kane was been called-up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21s squad for the upcoming UEFA qualifier.

The 19 year-old centre back, who has also featured at right back for the Terriers, has been summoned to the international squad by boss Noel King for forthcoming UEFA Under-21s Championship match against Kosovo.

The match will take place Shamrock Rovers’ Tallaght Stadium in South Dublin on Saturday 25 March, 1pm kick-off.

This is the first match in Group 5 as the teams look to qualify for the Under-21s 2019 UEFA Championships.

Alongside Kosovo, Ireland has been drawn with Azerbaijan, Israel, Germany and Norway.

Danny, who joined Town’s Academy from Irish side Cherry Orchard in February 2013, has previously been capped at both Under-19 and Under-21 level, after being called-up to the Ireland Under-21s squad earlier this year in November.

He was also named his country’s Under-17 Player of the Year in March of last year.

This season Danny has been a regular in Town’s Under-23 side under Senior Professional Development Coach Frankie Bunn, making 17 starts and one substitute appearance.
