BILLING RECEIVES FIRST DENMARK U20 CALL-UP

9 March 2017

20 year-old in line for two games in international break

- Philip Billing called up by Denmark Under-20s
- 20 year-old could face Czech Republic & Romania
- Phil previously capped at Under-19 level

Huddersfield Town midfielder Philip Billing has received his first call-up to the Denmark Under-20 squad.

The 20 year-old midfielder has been called into the Danish squad for a pair of Under-20 friendlies that will take place during the final international break of the 2016/17 Sky Bet Championship season in late March.

The Danes will travel to Marbella to take on Czech Republic in the first game on 24 March, 6.15pm kick-off local time, before a second came against Romania at the same venue on 27 March in a 1pm kick-off.

Any appearances that Philip makes would add to his solitary cap with Denmark’s Under-19 team, which came as a substitute in a friendly win over Norway back in September 2014.

Former Esbjerg Academy player Billing moved to the UK to join the Terriers after a successful trial in the summer of 2013, progressing through the Town Academy before signing his first professional contract in October 2013.

He has subsequently made 19 starts and 14 substitute appearances for Town’s First Team, scoring three goals. 19 of those appearances – and two goals – have come during the current campaign.
