LOAN: HIWULA JOINS FLEETWOOD TOWN

5 July 2017

Attacker to gain further First Team experience

- Jordy Hiwula joins Fleetwood Town on loan
- 22 year-old striker departs for the season
- Loan spell runs until 31 May 2018

Huddersfield Town’s Jordy Hiwula has today joined Sky Bet League 1 side Fleetwood Town on a Standard Loan for the 2017/18 season.

The 22 year-old, who plays predominantly as a centre forward but can also deployed out wide, joined ‘The Yorkshire Club’ in July 2015 on a contract running until 30 June 2018, with the Club having the option of a further season.

To date, his solitary competitive appearance for Town’s First Team came as a 65th minute substitute in the Capital One Cup game against Notts County in 2015/16.

He has gained further experience through three loan spells over the last two campaigns. During the 2015/16 season, he played 16 games for Wigan Athletic before signing for Walsall and appearing another 16 times.

Jordy continued to develop in Sky Bet League 1 last season, this time with Bradford City making 49 appearances and scoring 12 goals.

The striker’s development will continue under Head Coach Uwe Rösler at Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League 1.

Hiwula is the second Town player to join the Cod Army this summer, following Kyle Dempsey who signed permanently for the Club in May.

Town does have the option to recall Jordy during the 2018 January transfer window.
