TEAM NEWS: SHEFF WED VS TOWN

Wagner makes eight changes from Port Vale XI

- David Wagner makes eight changes to Town XI
- Billing, Brown & Payne retain places from Port Vale win
- Tommy Smith captains the Terriers again today

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has made eight changes to the starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game against Sheffield Wednesday; 3pm kick-off at Hillsborough.

As expected, Wagner has shuffled his pack again from the side that started last Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup win over Port Vale, with only Philip Billing, Izzy Brown and Jack Payne retaining their places.

That gives recent loan recruit Brown a first Sky Bet Championship start for the Terriers, whilst attacking midfielder Payne starts a third successive game for the first time since joining the Club in the summer.

Wagner has brought goalkeeper Danny Ward; defenders Chris Löwe, Christopher Schindler, Michael Hefele and Tommy Smith; midfielder Aaron Mooy and attackers Elias Kachunga (pictured above) and Nahki Wells back into the team.

Smith captains the side today on the ground where he made his Town league debut back in November 2013.

Jonathan Hogg (quad), Sean Scannell (ankle), Rajiv van La Parra (knee), Joe Murphy (finger) and Kasey Palmer (hamstring) are all ruled out through injury.
