TOWN OR MAN CITY WILL FACE MIDDLESBROUGH (A)

Possible Quarter-Final opponents revealed

-    Huddersfield Town or Man City will face Middlesbrough in Quarter-Finals
-    Fifth Round replay will take place on the provisional date of 28 February 2017
-    Quarter-Finals to take place on the weekend commencing Friday 10 March

Huddersfield Town or Manchester City will face Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium in the Quarter-Finals of the Emirates FA Cup.

Former England internationals Owen Hargreaves and Chris Sutton drew the Terriers and the Citizens ball number seven out at Ewood Park to face Premier League side Middlesbrough. If Town beat Man City at the Etihad Stadium, it will be the first time the Club has progressed into the Quarter-Finals since 1972.

Managed by Aitor Karanka, Boro’ currently sits 16th in the Premier League table with 22 points from 25 games.

The two sides have only met once in the FA Cup when Huddersfield Town beat Middlesbrough 4-0 on the 18 February 1928.

The last time the Terriers travelled to the Riverside Stadium they were beaten 3-0, with the last win against the possible Quarter-Final opponents coming on 5 March 2013 as Town won 2-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The match will take place on the weekend of Friday 10 March, meaning if Town progress to the Quarter-Finals then the Club’s Sky Bet Championship match away at Brentford on Saturday 11 March will be rescheduled, more information will be confirmed on htafc.com at a later date.

David Wagner’s side will face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in a Fifth Round replay on the provisional date of Tuesday 28 February, 8pm kick-off (subject to TV selections). For ticket information regarding the replay click here!

Town drew 0-0 with Pep Guardiola’s side at the John Smith’s Stadium to be in the hat for the Quarter-Finals and previously beat both Port Vale and Rochdale 4-0 in the Third and Fourth Rounds of the competition.
