Huddersfield Town defender Mathias Zanka spoke to #HTTV ahead of Huddersfield Town’s trip to the south coast to face Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

This will be the second time Town will have faced Southampton this season with the Dane believing his side have learnt lessons from the 0-0 draw earlier in the season that they can take into the game:

“It’s always going to be easier when you know what they’re good at and have experience playing them. I think we will come into this game knowing what we can do to hurt them, and it will be interesting to see what they have learnt from that experience as well.”

“The Brighton win and that win on the weekend gave us good confidence and I don’t see why we shouldn’t go to Southampton and put in a good performance.

“The Manager told us not to dwell on the past and ask what we are capable of doing. That’s when we are best, when we show the Terrier Spirit and what we can do as a unit and not as individuals.”

Huddersfield Town fans travelling to Southampton will also receive a voucher that entitles them to a free drink redeemable at Town’s boxing day clash against Stoke City. The Danish international went into detail with HTTV as to why he’s making this Christmas gesture to Huddersfield Town supporters.

“I thought that the support we’ve been given has done a lot for the team and I thought of ways to give something back for the spirit of Christmas.”
