David Wagner makes four changes to starting XI
Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has made four changes to the starting XI for today’s Premier League game against Stoke City; 3pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Having served a one-match suspension as Town drew 1-1 at Southampton on Saturday, Jonathan Hogg replaces Danny Williams in central midfield this afternoon. USA international Williams is among the substitutes.
Following on from his assist at St Mary’s Stadium at the weekend, Club Captain Tommy Smith returns to skipper the side in place of Florent Hadergjonaj for his first start in three matches.
Chris Löwe also returns in place of Scott Malone; the left-back was dropped to the bench for the 1-1 draw against Southampton after suffering a foot injury.
The final change comes in attack, where Wagner has employed his rotation policy to bring in record signing Steve Mounié in place of Laurent Depoitre.
With Hogg back in the match day squad, former Stoke City midfielder Dean Whitehead drops out of the match day 18 today.
