Huddersfield Town striker Laurent Depoitre reflected on his sides 3-1 defeat at home to Antonio Conte’s Chelsea side.

Laurent felt that his side defended well but ultimately the quality of Chelsea’s attacking unit was enough to determine the outcome of the game.

The forward spoke of his delight to get on the scoresheet, given the amount of minutes he played, and went on to discuss the need to make an impact as a striker when coming off the bench.

Laurent Depoitre commented:

“We knew it wouldn’t be an easy game when you play a team against the top six. We played with a good block defensively, they have good qualities, but they didn’t create too many chances, but they were clinical.

“Personally, I’m very happy I could score a goal in the 20 minutes I played, it will help my confidence. Unfortunately, it’s a goal for nothing but I’m happy.

“As a striker you know that when you come onto the pitch you have to try and make an impact on the game. It’s not easy when we are losing but I try to do my best.”
