Huddersfield Town Captain Tommy Smith spoke to HTTV ahead of the Boxing Day clash at home to Stoke City.

The defender spoke after the Southampton game having come on as a second-half substitute to make his first assist of the season when his cross from the right was converted by Laurent Depoitre to give Town the equaliser.

David Wagner’s side are entering a busy festive games schedule with the Stoke game coming just 72 hours after the Southampton game. The defender believes that his side will recover well and be fully prepared for the game on Boxing Day.

Smith gave his thoughts ahead of the game:

“I think everyone’s feeling okay. The manager is really big on everyone being as fresh as they can be for the upcoming games.

“It’s a busy period, it’s new to some of the lads but a lot of the lads it’s second nature, we’ve done it a lot of times over the years.”

“It’s going to be a tough game, Stoke are a good side make no mistake. They’re a good side with a good manager and we are going to have to be at our best.”
