Huddersfield Town Under-18 players Isaac Marriott and George Danaher are looking forward to the prospect of hosting Fulham in the FA Youth Cup at the John Smith’s Stadium on Friday evening.
The teenagers are among the contenders to play in the fixture as Town enter the prestigious competition at the Third Round stage.
The game will kick-off at 7pm, with admission set at £4 for adults and £2 for concessions at the gate, and the pair are hoping to see a few Town fans at the game to cheer them on, as they explained to #HTTV earlier today.
“I’m very excited about the game,” striker Danaher, 17, admitted.
“I think it’s going to be a tough test against Fulham, but everyone knows the game-plan and what we’re going to do, so we’re looking forward to it.
“We’ll give it a good go. We’re near the top of our league and the goals are coming thick and fast.
“I’m looking forward to seeing a few Huddersfield Town fans at the game tomorrow. They’ve been so good for the First Team this season, so it’d be good to walk out to a few on Friday night.”
Midfielder Marriott, 18, added: “I’m really excited; it’s a big game for us. It’s something we want to put right after getting beaten (by AFC Wimbledon) last year.
“The league is important to us and we’re doing well in that, but the FA Youth Cup is really big for us; it’s a big game that we look forward to. Some of us have played at the John Smith’s Stadium before and we have to treat it like a normal game and play our usual stuff.”
