Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner spoke ahead of his sides trip to the South Coast to face Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

David Wagner’s side face Southampton for the second time this season in Saturday’s game, with the Head Coach reflecting on the lessons they can take from the first encounter at the John Smith’s Stadium into tomorrow’s game:

“I think so because they have the same idea of football, the same manager and the same players. There are some things that we can take out of this game, even if we are at a different stage of the season.

“I think it was a fair result the 0-0 which we had at the beginning of the season. They had the first big chance of the game and further on I think we further on had more good opportunities, so I think it was fair.

“So yes, we will take something out of this game, but tomorrow’s game is a new game, it’s an away game where for sure we have to come to our best to perform like we have done in the past. We like to be focused on ourselves and make ourselves independent from the game.

A full update on the availability of the Huddersfield Town squad was also given that included updates on Chris Löwe, Michael Hefele and Jonathan Hogg:

“We have no further injuries after the game. Chris Löwe worked individually but looks good and was back in training today and is part of our squad tomorrow.

“Hefele got a slight set back in the last week, he was out of training last week but yesterday was back in team training – but he will not be in the squad, but we hope he can consistently train with us for the next three or four weeks and of course we will miss Jonathan Hogg because of his suspension.

“It looks like Phil Billing and Jon Stanković will be back in training from the middle to the end of January which will be helpful for us as everyone knows we have a very tight squad and these long-term injuries are like new signings for us.”
