Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner spoke to press on Monday afternoon as he previewed his side’s upcoming game against last season’s Premier League Champions, Chelsea.

Town’s Head Coach takes his team into the game on the back of a 2-0 victory over fellow Championship promoted side, Brighton & Hove Albion with David stating that his side must focus on itself and not the reaction of Chelsea following their one-goal defeat to West Ham United in Saturday’s London derby:

“I think all of us learn from experiences, positive and negative. But like in the past, it makes no sense to be too much focused on Chelsea and their reaction, we must focus on ourselves as we are unable to influence what Chelsea’s thoughts are.

“There is no doubt that Chelsea are one of the biggest teams in England because they were the team that won the Premier League title last season. This is a top team with great players and a very good Manage and we are happy to host them. It will be an exciting night and hopefully we can make it into a successful night as well.”

David Wagner told the press assembled at PPG Canalside that both his side and the supporters knon what they must do against top six sides in order to be in with a ‘small’ chance of succeeding:

“We have a lot of experiences in the Premier League in home games against big teams. We know exactly what we have to do to have that small chance, and the supporters know what they have to do to in order to help us have that small chance.

“If there is a small gap open that we can use, then we will try and do everything to use it. It’s important, that if you want to stay up, that you collect points off the top 6.”

“We cannot expect a positive result from us tomorrow, but what we can expect is that we make it as uncomfortable as possible against this opponent. This is what we will do, and we will see if we get that small chance.”
