10 August 2017

Town Under-18s defeated by Sevilla in Seville

- Town Under-18s played their final game in Seville
- Five changes made from five-goal defeat to Cadiz
- Leigh Bromby’s side lose out 3-0

Leigh Bromby’s side lost out by three goals to the host, Sevilla, in their final game of the LFE tour in Seville.

Just like the previous friendly, the game was played at 10am local time in an attempt avoid the Spanish midday sun, and conditions were made slightly more bearable as a cool breeze helped ease the ever increasing 30-degree heat.

Leigh Bromby made five alterations to the starting line-up that was defeated by five-goals to Cadiz as Sam Gibson, Ben Jackson and Saul Milovanovic were all introduced and an alternate front line made up of Olly Dyson and George Danaher was chosen.

The main action of the first half came when the host took the lead in the 26th minute providing Bromby’s side with an uphill challenge in the second half to get back into the game.

That opportunity to get back into the game came right at the beginning of the second half as Town were awarded a penalty. George Danaher duly stepped up but was unable to draw the sides level.

Another great opportunity was created by Town as some good build-up play from Leigh Bromby’s side created a shooting opportunity for Dom Tear, but his strike hit the post denying Town the equaliser.

The host were then awarded a debatable penalty on the 75th minute that was duly dispatched to send them into a two-goal lead. The third followed soon after from a counter attack, condemning Leigh Bromby’s side to a three-goal defeat.
