Huddersfield Town striker Steve Mounié reviewed the Club’s 2-2 draw with Serie A side Torino and was buoyed by his side’s performance.

The Terriers came from behind twice in Austria to draw with the Italian club and Mounié believes Town can have a good start in the Premier League if they perform at the same level.

“It was a good game against Torino, we got a good result against a very tough team,” explained the striker.

“We tried to play our style of football in the game and I think we did that well; it was a good performance and I’m very happy with how we did in the pre-season match.

“I hope we can do the same things right that we did against Torino, when the Premier League season starts next weekend.”

The 22 year-old scored the fourth and final goal of the game, heading Chris Löwe’s dangerous cross past the helpless Goalkeeper.

Steve has now scored in four pre-season friendliest for David Wagner’s men and told htafc.com that we wants to keep on impressing his teammates.

“It’s important for me to score for the confidence of the team, the Head Coach and the fans; I want them to continue to believe in me and I want to impress them.

“It’s always important for strikers to score and it was my fourth in pre-season, so it’s important that I’ve been able to do this in a new team whilst learning a new style of football.

“It makes me very happy when I play well and can help the team. It’s good for everyone at the Club when we score and it’s a feeling that I love.”

David Wagner’s First Team squad today (Saturday 5 August 2017) returned from its pre-season training camp in Austria.

The powerful striker explained how beneficial the eight days in Austria have been for him.

“The training in Austria was very tough, we worked hard on a lot of things but I think this has prepared us well for the Premier League,” said Steve.

“It is always good to come away with your teammates, especially when you are new but we have always had a good ambience in our dressing room and I think I’ve fitted in really well.”

We are now just one week away from the start of the 2017/18 season, Town’s first taste oh top flight English football in 45 years and Town’s record signing can’t wait to get started.

“In one week we start the Premier League, this season will be crazy and I’m really looking forward to playing the first game against Crystal Palace.

“I’m excited to feel the energy of the Premier League, the power that our fans will give us on the pitch and to see how we do against some of the best teams in the world.

“We are all excited for it and believe in ourselves and our style.”
