Town to play friendly during international break

Huddersfield Town will play a friendly in the international break against German side Altona 93 on Sunday 3 September 2017.

David Wagner’s side will travel to Hamburg on Sunday 3 September 2017 to face Altona 93 in an international break friendly; with kick-off scheduled for 5pm German time (4pm U.K time).

The game against the fourth tier (Regionalliga Nord) German side will take place at Altona’s Adolf-Jäger-Kampfbahn Stadium. Situated in the west of Hamburg, the venue has a capacity of 10,000.

Formed in 1893, Altona is one of the oldest football clubs in Germany and was one of the founder members of the German Football Association.

The Club was promoted to the Regionalliga Nord having finished third in the Oberliga Hamburg division where Altona had previously spent six seasons. The Club reached the Semi-Finals of the German Cup (DFB Pokal) in both 1955 and 1964 and has moved between the third and fifth tiers of German Football since the 1980s.
