Huddersfield Town’s Under-23s side will host Colchester United on Thursday 6 April in the Professional Development League at PPG Canalside.

The game will be held at the Club’s PPG Canalside (509 Leeds Rd, Huddersfield, HD2 1YJ) Training Ground. Fans can attend this fixture for £1 and receive a free team sheet prior to the 2pm kick-off.

Frankie Bunn’s young side goes into this fixture off the back of a 4-1 victory away at Cardiff City on Monday.

Goals from Ronan Coughlan, Regan Booty, Lewis O’Brien and Sam Warde led Town’s Under-23s to a second 4-1 win on the bounce. You can watch highlights below courtesy of HTTV.

When the young Terriers face Colchester United on Thursday, it will be the first meeting between the sides since the opening day of the 2015/16 season; it was the Terriers who were victorious in that fixture with a 4-0 win over Thursday’s oppenents. Flo Bojaj, Philip Billing, Rekeil Pyke and Jacob Hanson were on the scoresheet for the Terriers that game.

Town’s Under-23s side currently sits in sixth place in the Professional Development League North table with 35 points, seven points behind second placed Hull City. However, the Terriers do have a game in hand on the teams in third and second.

The opposition, Colchester, play in the Professional Development League South and currently sits in seventh place in the table, 14 points off second placed Millwall with two games in hand.

Thursday’s opposition is led by former Leicester City, Preston North End and Colchester United centre back Wayne Brown. His side comes into this match after being knocked out of the Premier League Cup 2-0 by Portsmouth on Monday.

As always, the top two sides from the northern table will qualify for the end-of-season Professional Development League Play-Offs against the equivalent southern table sides to crown the overall PDL champion.
