REPORT: TOWN U23s 1-0 FOREST

Murphy plays again as Booty seals win

- Town Under-23s beat Nottingham Forest
- Regan Booty scores the only goal
- Joe Murphy plays 90 minutes as return continues

Frankie Bunn’s Development Squad recorded a second successive win at PPG Canalside on Sunday, defeating visitors Nottingham Forest by a single goal.

The game featured another game in the recovery of experienced ‘keeper Joe Murphy, who was excellent on the afternoon. This was his first 90 minutes since his shoulder surgery at the back-end of the 2015/16 campaign, building on the 45 minutes he played against Liverpool in midweek.

Murphy was the only overage player in the side, which featured two Academy scholars; attacking midfielders Luca Colville and Lewis O’Brien. Another, recent signing Denilson Carvalho, made his Under-23 debut as a second half substitute.

Bunn was without the services of Jordan Williams (international duty), Ronan Coughlan and Dylan Cogill (both knee injuries), so first year professional midfielder Sam Warde played at right back, with Jacob Hanson at left back.

Captain Regan Booty netted the only goal of the game in the 55th minute to seal the Professional Development League win.

Highlights of the game will appear on HTTV during the week!
