Huddersfield Town has today appointed Matthew Burton to a new position as the Club’s Schools Ambassador.
Lifelong Town fan Matthew is a teacher at school partner Thornhill Community Academy, where he shot to fame alongside the other teachers as one of the focal points of the Channel 4 show ‘Educating Yorkshire’ in 2013 and 2014.
He will now use his expertise taken from his career in education to help the Club tailor and promote its new and improved ‘Schools Focus’ scheme, which allows local children and their families to attend Town’s Sky Bet Championship matches at a discounted rate; just £10 adults and either £5 or £3 for Under-18s.
Matthew, alongside Town’s Commercial Director Sean Jarvis, talked to HTTV about the new ‘Schools Ambassador’ position.

At the beginning of the season, Town delivered special Schools Focus brochures to all schools in the local area.
With this brochure, parents and children can come to any – or all – of Town’s home games in 2016 for just £10 adults and either £5 or £3 Under-18s. Simply turn to pages 5 through 10 for special vouchers for each game, which you can cut out and bring to the Ticket Office. Bring the whole family!
The booklets also feature a unique URL that can be used to redeem the voucher online (you need to register or sign in first).
As well as the 90 minutes of action-packed football on the pitch, there’s lots more to enjoy on a match day at Huddersfield Town.
In the special Fantastic Media Family Stand, you’ll find fun things to do and visit like face painters, balloon modellers, Terry the Terrier and his new friend Tilly - and some of the Town players will pop over to say hello too!
