HUDSON: OUR GROUP HAS A SPECIAL BOND

Hudson reviews Town's training camp so far

Huddersfield Town Captain Mark Hudson caught up with htafc.com during the First Team’s training camp in Marbella.

David Wagner’s side travelled to Marbella for their week long training camp on Monday with their families with the aim to bond more as a group and develop on the pitch. Hudson explained how bringing the families has helped the group.

“The training camp in Marbella is going well,” explained Town’s Captain.

“All the families are bonding together nicely, which will ultimately help our team spirit in the long-term and the weather is good so we have been able to get a lot of time on the grass.

“It’s really important that all the families have come together and have got to meet each other. All the wives and girlfriends now have a WhatsApp group so they can do things together, while we focus on getting things right on the pitch.

“For us as a Club we have always said that things need to be right both on and off the pitch so bringing the families here will only make us stronger as a group and create an extra special bond.”

David Wagner’s First Team have been out on the training pitch every day since arriving and the centre-back believes holding the training camp in Marbella has benefitted the players on the pitch due to the sunny weather.

“Training wise out here, like I’ve already said, it gives us a lot more time on the grass. We have been on the training pitch working hard every morning.

“If we were in the UK we may not have been able to do that; we’ve been told it has snowed back in Huddersfield so that could’ve stopped us getting on the training pitch. It is still sunny out here so it allows us to work hard on ground that isn’t frozen.”

Despite being in a different country, the players’ training schedule has remained the same and Mark insists they have been working hard to fix their weaknesses.

“We were able to bring all of our equipment out here so we have been doing through the same processes as we would be doing in the UK.

“One of the main differences we’ve worked on out here is tweaking and looking at areas we need to improve in, so we are ready to hit the ground running after the international break.

“We are one big family now as a group and this training camp has rejuvenated us all. I think everyone will be able to take something out of this.”
