DANNY WARD RECEIVES LATEST WALES CALL-UP

2 November 2016

Goalkeeper could face Serbia during the international break

- Danny Ward receives call-up to Wales squad
- Goalkeeper could face Serbia in latest World Cup qualifier
- Liverpool loanee already has three senior caps

Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Danny Ward has been called up to the latest Wales squad for an upcoming World Cup qualifier.

Chris Coleman’s squad will host Serbia in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Ward and his teammates will play the game on Saturday 12 November 2016; 7.45pm kick-off.

The Welsh currently sit third in World Cup qualifying Group D with five points from their opening three games, with the Serbians topping the group with seven points.

The first placed side will advance to the final tournament in Russia once all 10 group games have been played, with the eight best runners-up from the groups advancing to the second round of qualifying.

With the Sky Bet Championship taking an international break at this time, Danny will have time to re-join the Terriers ahead of the next game; coincidentally, that's also at the Cardiff City Stadium against the Bluebirds on Saturday 19 November!

Danny is the second Town player to receive international summons for this period, following on from Aaron Mooy’s call-up to the Australia squad.
