Huddersfield Town’s Development Squad defender Danny Kane has received his first call-up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad.

The 19 year-old centre back, who has also featured at right back for the Terriers, has been summoned to the international squad by boss Noel King for forthcoming international friendlies against the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The games will take place at the La Manga training centre in Spain on 12 and 15 November respectively.

Danny, who joined Town’s Academy from Irish side Cherry Orchard in February 2013, has previously been capped up to Under-19 level, with the most recent of his four appearances at that level coming in November 2015.

He was also named his country’s Under-17 Player of the Year in March of last year.

This season Danny has been a regular in Town’s Under-23 side under Senior Professional Development Coach Frankie Bunn, making seven starts and one substitute appearance.
