Wagner makes five changes to starting XI
- David Wagner makes five changes to starting XI- Scannell, Matmour, Paterson, Smith & Cranie start
- Wells (knee), Lolley, Bunn, Dempsey & Cranie make way
Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has made five changes to his starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship season finale against Brentford; 12.30pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Sean Scannell has been brought into the line-up to make his first start in over two months; he scored against Brentford in this fixture last season.
Karim Matmour also comes into the side to make a first start since 2 April after several impressive performances as a substitute recently.
The third change in the attacking areas sees loanee Jamie Paterson return to the team for what is the final game of his loan spell from Nottingham Forest.
That trio replaces the injured Nahki Wells (knee), Harry Bunn and Joe Lolley, with the latter pair among the substitutes this afternoon. That should mean that one of Scannell, Matmour, Paterson or Rajiv van La Parra will start as the striker today.
The final changes see Tommy Smith and Martin Cranie replace Kyle Dempsey and Jason Davidson.
Although Wells is missing from the squad today, there is a welcome return for 19 year-old Danish midfielder Philip Billing; he’s on the bench having missed the last two games with a calf injury.
Nahki joins goalkeeper Joe Murphy (shoulder) and young striker Flo Bojaj (hip) on the sidelines.
