- Bermudian striker gets three awards on the night
Nahki Wells has been named Huddersfield Town’s 2015/16 Hargreaves Memorial Trophy Player of the Year at the Club’s Annual Awards ceremony this evening.
The Bermudian striker netted three accolades on the evening, adding the Players’ Player of the Year and Golden Boot to the most prestigious accolade too.
Wells was voted the Hargreaves Memorial Trophy Player of the Year by Huddersfield Town fans through a vote held by the Huddersfield Examiner, gaining over 51% of the nominations.
Centre back Joel Lynch finished runner-up with just under 22% of fans’ votes, with central midfielder Dean Whitehead third with just under 8%.
The win is well deserved for the 25 year-old striker, who has netted 18 goals in all competitions to top the Club’s scoring charts.
In particular, Nahki has thrived since Head Coach David Wagner arrived at the Club in November. 14 of his goals have come in just 31 appearances under the German, compared with 25 goals in 75 Town appearances beforehand.
