Head Coach previews the Reading game

- Head Coach focused on another good performance
- Wagner indicates Sean Scannell could return

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner is looking for another good performance from his side when it faces Reading tomorrow night at the John Smith's Stadium.

Town's Head Coach wants to see the right reaction from his players after two good performances still heralded consecutive defeats against Ipswich Town and Derby County.

"First of all it has to be our first target to repeat the Derby performance, but to make a next step in the right direction. The performance has to be our first target.

"We have to be focused on the very important things; ourselves and our performance. It doesn't help to think of the defeat at Derby or the position of the table. It only helps to be focused on yourself and what you can do to beat Reading.

“We must make sure we bring our performance on the pitch, bring our identity and make everyone see that we are investing everything to get the three points. If we are able to do this, then I'm confident we will show the right reaction at full-time.

"I'm really confident for tomorrow. We had this situation twice before, which was something unknown for us and I wasn't sure how the group would react. They showed the right reaction twice and that gives me every confidence that I can trust and believe in them."

This will be David's third match against Reading since being appointed as Head Coach in November.

He continued: "It's time to get the right result, but to be honest the last two games won’t help us for the game tomorrow. We have to be focused on ourselves, make sure that everybody is fresh, make sure we work with the right game plan and know that we are able to beat them.

"We deserved a win in our last two games, but we didn't get it. Now we have to make sure that we make it right tomorrow. It doesn't happen very often that you have three chances to get the right result. Now we have the opportunity to beat them (Reading) and this opportunity we would like to use."

The Town boss admitted that he doesn't pay much attention to the table and is purely focused on tomorrow's game with Reading.

David continued: “Of course I look at the table, but it's important to separate the important from the unimportant things. To find out what will help you for your next game, it doesn't help to look at the table.

"It helps to think about what we have to do tomorrow to beat them, where we can hurt them, what we have to make sure we don't offer them and this is where our focus is. This is what I mean when I said it doesn't help at this moment. Everyone looks at the table, which is normal, but it doesn't help for tomorrow.”

Town's Head Coach told that Sean Scannell could return to the squad after he has been out with a long-term knee injury and that changes could be made to the starting line-up to keep the players fresh during the busy schedule.

"At the moment I think he (Scannell) could be back. We have training on Monday at 6pm and afterwards we will have made the decision whether he is in the squad.

"There could be changes, but not because of any injuries; maybe to bring in fresh bodies. Maybe to bring in players who played against Reading where we played very well twice, but we will make the decision after training tomorrow morning."
