CHARITY PARTNER PRESENTS DEFIBRILLATOR

10 June 2016

Charity partner raises money for defibrillators

HTAFC Charity Partner Goals 4 Hearts along with Club Ambassador Andy Booth presented a defibrillator to the Huddersfield Community Trust’s Nathan Scott at The Zone.

Goals 4 Hearts is a Huddersfield-based charity that raises money for life saving defibrillators for local amateur football teams and schools while also providing heart screening.

The charity aims to raise awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and makes sure the protection and correct equipment is on hand when needed in all public places.

They hope to continue fundraising in order to purchase this equipment and therefore prevent SCA from happening, to help save lives by having more defibrillators out in the community.

Lee Orton from Goals 4 Hearts commented: “Through our partnership with Huddersfield Town over the year we have been able to fundraise and raise awareness of the defibrillators.”

Club Ambassador Andy Booth said: “It’s great that Goals 4 Hearts can provide a defibrillator to The Zone as they are incredibly important to have site when people are playing football or are involved in any physical activity.

“We hope we can continue to support the Huddersfield Community Trust and other charity partners to raise more awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest and make sure people have the right equipment they need if the worst happens.”

Lisa Hewitt, CEO of Huddersfield Community Trust added: “We are extremely grateful to Goals 4 Hearts for providing us with a defibrillator at The Zone.

“With thousands of visitors each week taking part in a variety of fitness activities it provides us with peace of mind that should the worst happen we can react swiftly.

“We look forward to working with Goals 4 Hearts to support them with fundraising activities to enable other clubs and groups access to this vital piece of life saving equipment.”
