Town fans cycle over 300 miles to raise money for P4P7

- Town fans cycle to Euros for P4P7
- Ten Huddersfield Town fans travel over 300 miles
- Sponsorship money can still be handed in!

Ten Huddersfield Town fans called ‘Team Bronze’ cycled over 300 miles to get to this summer’s European Championships in a final fundraiser for Pedal 4 Pounds 7.

The team were inspired from the Pedal 4 Pounds events and wanted to raise some more money for the event as the proceeds go to Yorkshire Air Ambulance and the Huddersfield Town Academy.

They set off for the Euros from Huddersfield and cycled around 80 miles to Hull before catching an overnight ferry to Rotterdam. They spent two days cycling from to Kortrijk, Belgium where they set up their base camp.

Half of the riders had tickets to watch England’s 2-1 win over Wales in Lens while the others rode around the iconic Roubaix Velodrome (the finish for the cobbled Paris to Roubaix race).

The following day the riders cycled to Zeebrugge, Belgium to catch a ferry back to Hull and returned to Huddersfield.

Two riders Grahame and Trevor went on an unorthodox route back to Huddersfield cycling for 103 miles in hostile weather from Hull to Huddersfield via a trip to York.

Over 160 cyclists took part in Pedal 4 Pounds 7 and there is still time for riders to submit their sponsorship forms!

Club Ambassador Andy Booth said:

“It’s fantastic to see how events like Pedal 4 Pounds 7 can inspire people to take on new challenges like these Huddersfield Town fans have done.

“Pedal 4 Pounds 7 was a superb event and you can add to its success by submitting any extra sponsorship forms!”

Please can you send the sponsorship money to Andy Booth at PPG Canalside, 509 Leeds Rd, Huddersfield, HD2 1YJ or to Cayley House, 10 South Lane, Elland, HX5 0HQ for the attention of Allison Taylor.
