Matmour, Hogg and Dempsey come into starting XI

- David Wagner makes three changes to starting XI

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has made three changes to his starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game against Cardiff City; 3pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.

With Joe Lolley missing from the match day squad due to illness, Wagner has handed full and home Huddersfield Town debuts to Algerian international Karim Matmour.

With Mark Hudson and Tommy Smith suspended, Jonathan Hogg returns from his ban and Kyle Dempsey is also back in following his recent knee issue. As Wagner discussed in his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Dempsey is expected to slot in at right back with Martin Cranie dropping back into centre half.

As neither Mark Hudson nor Dean Whitehead start this afternoon, Joel Lynch is captaining the side.

Jed Steer, Emyr Huws and Jamie Paterson, who all start today, made their Town debuts in the corresponding fixture in Wales back in September.
