Centre back leaves for rest of 2015/16
- Joe Wright returns to Accrington Stanley
- 20 year-old defender leaves on Standard Loan
- Comments from Head Coach David Wagner
Huddersfield Town Development Squad defender Joe Wright has today re-joined Sky Bet League 2 side Accrington Stanley on a Standard Loan until 31 May 2016
The 20 year-old centre back – a graduate of the Town Academy – joined Stanley in the summer until 2 January 2016 and made 14 starts and one substitute appearance for John Coleman’s side during the first half of the 2015/16 campaign.
Accrington Stanley currently occupies the final Play-Off position in the Sky Bet League 2 standings, sitting seventh with 39 points from 22 games.
Wales Under-21 international Joe will now return to the Wham Stadium for the remainder of the season, with the side back in league action at home to Notts County on Saturday.
Huddersfield Town’s Head Coach David Wagner commented:
“Joe played regularly during the first half of the season in League 2 at Accrington, so it is perfect that we can extend his stay there until the end of the season.
“He can play regular football at a good level there and at the moment I cannot guarantee him the opportunity to play at Huddersfield currently with Joel Lynch, Mark Hudson and Martin Cranie all in form and healthy. I also have another alternative here with William Boyle returning from York City this week.
“Our team will continue to watch Joe’s development closely; hopefully he will continue to improve at Accrington.”
