Left back staying at ‘The Yorkshire Club’ until 6 February

- James Husband joins Huddersfield Town
- Defender joins from Middlesbrough until 6 February
- Comments from Head Coach David Wagner

Huddersfield Town has today completed the signing of James Husband on an Emergency Loan from fellow Sky Bet Championship club Middlesbrough until 6 February.
The 22 year-old left back trained with his new Town teammates at PPG Canalside on Thursday and will be available for selection by Head Coach David Wagner in Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup game at home to Reading.
James will take the number 15 shirt during his time at the Club.
Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner commented:
“Now that Ben Chilwell has returned to Leicester City, one of our targets in this winter window was to bring in another left back with Jason Davidson the only specialist in our squad.
“James is a player that the Club has watched over a long period of time and it is good that we could act so quickly when he was available. I must say thank you to Aitor Karanka and Middlesbrough for the speed of our negotiations too.
“From what I’ve seen from him during his loan period at Fulham, he has attributes that will work in our style. I look forward to working with James on the training pitch and helping him to understand our ideas.”
Born in Leeds, Husband started his professional career at Doncaster Rovers in his teenage years.
He turned professional at Doncaster in November 2011 and made his First Team debut five months later, coming on as a second half substitute in a Sky Bet Championship game at Middlesbrough.
James was a regular in the Doncaster side that gained promotion back to the second tier in the 2012/13 season, making a total of 63 starts and 10 substitute appearances for the Club; scoring four times on the way to the Play-Off Final win.
The defender joined Middlesbrough in July 2014 in a deal that saw the Club pay an undisclosed fee signing a four year contract, with Boro striker Curtis Main going in the opposite direction at the same time.
The form of George Friend has restricted James to six starts and one substitute appearances for the Club to date.
The left back also played in the Sky Bet Championship through two separate loan spells at Fulham; he started 12 games for the Cottagers between March and December 2015.
In total, Husband has made a total of 86 starts and 11 substitute appearances in his career, scoring four times.

An interview with new signing James will appear on HTTV later today!
