Left back James Husband believes he has adapted to Huddersfield Town’s style of football and is starting to contribute more on the pitch.
The 22 year-old set up Nahki Wells’ winning goal against Wolves at the weekend and helped Town record a second clean sheet in a row.
James explained: “He’s (David Wagner) got a different way of playing at times and it took me a little while to adjust to it. Now I’m starting to get it.
“There are still little things that everyone can improve on but I’m starting to understand the whole way I have to play and I feel like I’m contributing a lot more.
“It’s a fantastic three points for us,” James said of Saturday’s home win. “We knew it was going to be a nitty-gritty game, considering the conditions. They made it hard for us to play but we’re delighted with the three points.”
Husband recorded his first assist in a Huddersfield Town shirt and hopes he can provide more chances for his teammates to score.
“I’ve had a few assists, obviously at Fulham at the start of the year, but I try and base my game on assists and defending at much as possible.
“I got an assist and we got a clean sheet against Wolves so I’m happy; I can’t ask for any more.
“It’s nice to get forwards. The way the Head Coach plays allows me to do that. It was more evident against Wolves because there was more space on my side and I thought I caused a few problems at times. My final product could’ve been better but we got three points in the end.”
Husband joined Town on 8 January on loan from Middlesbrough and has subsequently had his move extended until 9 April inclusive. The defender praised his teammates for helping him settle in.
“I’m enjoying my time here, as the lads are great. They’ve made me feel welcome, especially over the last couple of weeks.
“It’s hard to get settled when you first join a Club, but I feel settled now and hopefully as a team we can all kick on.”
