Wagner makes three changes to starting XI

- David Wagner makes three changes to starting XI
- Dean Whitehead returns for 600th career appearance
- Danny Ward and Chris Löwe also start

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has made three changes to the starting XI for today’s Sky Bet Championship game against Blackburn Rovers; 12.30pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.

With Jonathan Hogg ruled out with a quad strain, the first change comes in central midfield where Dean Whitehead (pictured above) returns for his first appearance since the game at Fulham on 29 October. He skippers the side today.

The game is also Whitehead’s 600th appearance of his career in all competitions and his 450th league start.

The other two changes see players return from the illness that ruled them out of starting against Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day. Danny Ward returns in goal, with Joel Coleman returning to the bench, whilst Chris Löwe replaces Tareiq Holmes-Dennis at left back.

Holmes-Dennis is not in today’s squad due to a niggle with his knee, so Club Captain Mark Hudson returns to the substitutes’ bench after his recent hamstring injury.

Alongside Tareiq, Jonathan Hogg (quad), Sean Scannell (ankle) and Joe Murphy (finger) are out.
