Huddersfield Town’s Under-18s drew 0-0 with Birmingham City at PPG Canalside in the U18 Professional Development League.

Town created the best chances early on in what was a very even first half at the Club’s Training Ground. Full-back Same Gibson drove down the left wing and whipped in a cross that narrowly missed Cedwyn Scott at the far post.

Tony Carss’ youngsters continued to create opportunities; a great last ditch block in the box denied Scott before Dom Tear rattled the cross bar with a fierce strike from inside the area around the half an hour mark.

Young ‘keeper Ryan Schofield did well to deny the away side with an excellent low one handed save.

The Birmingham City ‘keeper was in action once again, he did well to turn Scott’s cross over the bar before O’Brien fired over from the resulting corner.

The Blues’ youngsters began the second half the strongest and pushed back the young Terriers before Ryan Schofield pulled off another good save to deny the visitors.

After 70 minutes Town should’ve been ahead. Lewis O’Brien broke through the Birmingham defence and place the ball past the ‘keeper who was equal to it.

Moments later a Birmingham City striker flashed a header wide before O’Brien drove an effort just past the post.

The final chance of the match fell to substitute Alfie Raw but he was denied by the Birmingham ‘keeper just before the final whistle.

Highlights of the game will appear on HTTV in the week.
