Six debuts in Wagner’s starting XI

- David Wagner hands Town debuts to six players
- Another five summer recruits among the subs
- No Davidson, Whitehead, Billing, Bunn or Wells

Huddersfield Town Head Coach David Wagner has handed six players their competitive debuts for the Club in today’s season-opening game against Brentford; 3pm kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Goalkeeper Danny Ward; defenders Christopher Schindler and Chris Löwe; midfielders Aaron Mooy and Jack Payne and striker Elias Kachunga all start against the Bees today having signed for the Terriers during the summer window.

Dean Whitehead (suspended), Philip Billing (ankle), Harry Bunn (hamstring) and Nahki Wells (recovery from a knee injury) are all absent from the match day squad as expected, as is Jason Davidson (illness).

There are another five possible debutants among the substitutes this afternoon; goalkeeper Joel Coleman, defenders Michael Hefele and Jon Gorenc Stanković; midfielders Ivan Paurević and Kasey Palmer.
